Do yourself a big favor and have a igg herpes select blood test to reconfirm your status. Its really the only answer to your questions.
How do I have it and not spread it then.. the guy I was with when I showed up positive doesn't have it. So I assumed it was from my son's dad before him and he's clean.. my bf now is clean. I was diagnosed 2012 and I've never had an outbreak or spread it
A swab for herpes coming back positive would be conclusive and not a false positive
Could it still be a false positive. Because when I had my labs and pap done she tested me for everything possible but I haven't had an outbreak.. they don't even have me on meds because my doc sees it as the meds help with the outbreaks
Normally they dont test for herpes with a pap test, they dont test ofr HSV they test for HPV which is not the herpes virus. You need to confirm you were tested for herpes HSV and there is no igg for a culture test, only positive or negative.
Sorry to overide your question as you were correct to ask this , i misread the post.
But I just had a pap done last month and I got the results and everything was normal no abnormalities
I had a routine pap done and it came up.. but they didn't tell me till I called 3 months later when I didn't get a letter in the mail with results but I've never had an outbreak
igg is a blood test for antibodies and a swab is a culture where the actual herpes virus grows and is detected so the igg is a blood test.
Was it a blood test or a swab ?
Hi, you need to contact them for the igg levels to rule out a false positive.
