I have what I hope are two seperate issues here. I had unprotected sex with a girl about 3 weeks ago. Being proactive, I went and got myself a prescription for Levaquin in case of bacterial infection. After taking the antibiotics, I suffered from watery, explosive diarrhea for a couple days followed by a bout of constipation. I then experienced what felt like pooing glass from then on, quite painful until recently when it diminished to a minor pain. The pain though has been replaced with a pronounced itch. For most of this time, I assumed it was just a fissure, but last night I looked with a mirror and found the area around the rectum and forward to be red and appear irritated. There's no blisters or discoloration or anything. The thing I'm worried about is the possibility of the fissure really being anal herpes. Here's the thing though:
1. There was nothing even close to any anal or under scrotal touching at all....straight me on top missionary.
2. Other than a bout of itchyness for 2 days on the right side of my groin (with no redness whatsoever, written off as hair growing back after some shaving), there's no sign of irritation anywhere in the groin or genital area.
3. Complete absence of flu like symptoms or swollen lymph nodes.
4. The original pain only hurt while defecating and afterwards for approx. 10 - 15 minutes.
So, am I just being a hypochondriac? Is it worth going to see a doctor, or am I just wasting people's time (aka: it really is just a fissure).
Thanks.
