How to Rule out Herpes?

After a un protected encounter about 8 days there is some raised skin on shaft in a few diff places looks like just slightly raised red irritated  no puss or blistering or anyting, kinda looks like if i rubbed the skin raw from overly masturbating * butI I havent.  Its been confusing cause apparently herpes can hide or barely show? but than again its suppose to come on strong the first out break??? How can one rule out herpes? also i have read that the tests can show false negatives? whats the best test to show it? this is very scary for me I do have a dr. appt next week earliest but my mind is having a hard time waiting, pretty down on myself , could it be irritated from her bacteria? or yeast? or another type of bacteria problem? Ive looked at herpes pics and symptoms i have had no flue feeling or blistering just raised irritated skin on my shaft with maybe a bit of tingling........ sigggh there is also a very small pimple on my head of the penis less than the size of a needle tip no white head and has gone down to almost not visible in 3 days... kinda lost and def no sex for me until i figure this out, if it is herpes i dont even know how to face the psychological effects kinda scared

going to be seen is the best thing to do. unfortunately until you are seen next week, far too late for herpes lesion cultures.

Often it's hard to tell by looking. The textbook symptom of genital herpes is a cluster of small fluid-filled blisters that break, forming painful sores that crust and heal during several days. Affected areas include the penis, scrotum, vagina, vulva, urethra, anus, thighs, and buttocks.

But many people don't get these sores. Some people have no symptoms at all, while others get symptoms that can be easily mistaken for razor burn, pimples, bug bites, jock itch, hemorrhoids, an ingrown hair, or a vaginal yeast infection.

After you're infected, the symptoms go away, but can flare up from time to time. Luckily, the first outbreak usually is the worst. And some people may have just one or two outbreaks in their lifetime.

THIS IS WHAT IS FRUSTURATING? hard to tell? and if the first outbreak looks like razor bumps? how are you supposed to know....?
