herpes air bourne or in droplets of saliva?

I have a friend who has a healing cold sore. Unfortunetly he is one of those people that like to stand close when they talk. In any case he was talking to me and i felt like spit droplets on my lip and parts of my face. i quickly wiped my lip with my shirt. But can herpes be transmitted this way? I know i'm just worrying myself sick at the situation and yes i know oral herpes is quiet common. I just dont want to deal with it! :(

As grown adults the only way we will get HSV-1 is via those initmate kissies.
