1 out of every 3 of us on average contracts hsv1 orally as a small child/infant. when you are a child, it is easier to transmit hsv1 from sharing food and drinks and social kisses. once you are a teenager and older though it's almost exclusively transmitted through romantic type kisses.

can a virgin who has never been naked with anyone contract herpes? no they can not. it takes naked and intimate contact to transmit herpes to someone.

I have no idea where you are getting your information from but it's incredibly wrong!!!

you can't contract hsv2 without sexual contact.

hsv1 can never turn into hsv2.

FALSE.

YES, you CAN contract herpes type2 via no sexual contact,
and type2 will spread from type1 anyway.

P.S.  I doubt she got it from sharing a drink, but maybe if the family member kissed her...cause of skin to skin contact.

HSV2 No.  HSV1 only around your mouth if you are sharing drinks and kissing...
I have a friend that got HSV1 on her mouth from a family member by sharing a drink. Then that would be the only way.
