chances of transmission

By chance, I recently found out I was positive for hsv2.  never had ANY symptoms, etc.  After I found out, I got on valtrex for suppression.  Now I get these little tingles of pain around my chin area.  No blisters.  Have no idea how long I have had this.  My question is can I transmit this to a woman if I kiss her or if I'm using my tongue on her nipples?

I was negative for hsv1.  That is why the tingle around mouth and my fear of transmission from my mouth is so pressing on my mind right now.  No other problems at all in the groin area.  The tingling has actually been going on before the valtrex which would now be over three weeks. No redness or blister or anything has appeared (well one reddish spot actually on lower lip).  My initial test where I was positive was over 6 weeks ago.

thank you for providing those numbers. both are over the typical false positive cut off rate so no reason for more testing.

you had this at least 2-3 weeks prior to testing. other than that, no way to narrow it down more unless you were tested previously for herpes.

I'd stop the valtrex for a few weeks and see if your tingles go away.

what was your hsv1 status?

I was tested twice.  One was 4.8.  for hsv2 igg.  Second was 5.1.  Do these numbers give any indication how long I have had this or what stage or if it was the primary infection.
Will that give you the information to answer my first posting?  These tests were 6 weeks ago.  I know I'm overreacting to every little bump on my lip, etc.  I know it isn't possible to be 100% sure, but trying hard not to pass this on to anyone.

can you call and get your numeric results to post here for me to look at? all I need to see are the actual numeric results - ie hsv1 igg 6.6 and hsv2 igg 3.1 or whatever they are. that way I can be sure that you were properly tested and don't need additional confirmatory testing done.

try stopping the valtrex for a week and see if the tingles go away.
