confused on negative results: need help

Hello, I am a 22 yr old male and have a question about what to make of my herpes situation. I will give a timeline below

Protected Sex with female while I was sick
Week 1-5: Pain on right side of scrotum, no blisters, sores et.
Week 6-8: Pain urinating, ejaculating, and pain on tip of penis
Week 11: 2 red bumps on bottom of shaft that did not blister or release any fluid (lasted just over 2 weeks)
Week 6-12: constant muscle aches, starting in legs and glutes that have now gone to full body

Based on the muscle aches I was very sure I had herpes. I googled possible causes and due to the timing of the muscle pain I believe there was no other option. These aches are constant throughout the day, and I have not been doing any working out, etc.

hgg test after 8 weeks: negative for hsv type 1 and type 2
hgg test after 84 days (11.9 weeks): negative for hsv type and and type 2

I am wondering how conclusive these results are, as I am still very worried and paranoid. These muscle aches are something I have never had before, causing me to be sure it is from some type of herpes. I understand a 16 weeks Western Blot test is the best out there, but I do not have access to that test and will struggle to deal with this for another month. Can I be confident all of these weird symptoms are not from herpes due to the negative blood results?

Thanks so much

Sorry that was not my intention.  If you read my answer I posted away from the original paragraph.  I was clear to tell you, your body did not develop antibodies for HSV so for that reason your test is negative.

I got a negative result having a OB and that was because the body did not respond quick and the test came negative. But in the second OB the result was positive because my body have already react to the original infection.

Certainly you have something in your body maybe is not HSV but I'm sure is something.

Again my apologies

ya i did. GJPlaceres confused me a little bit with the answer, but thank you for helping clarify. Would you recommend another test at 16 weeks due to what he said, or should I look into other options that are causing my glute and leg pains?

you tested at 8 weeks and 11.5 weeks correct. For all practical purpose the body does produce antibodies and i would not consider this an option.

what do you mean your first test was negative? As in you had a blood test at 12 weeks that was negative, but still had a positive test in the future? Sorry I'm just confused by your wording. I also know the body sometimes is unable to produce the antibodies, but then wouldn't I not have potential symptoms all over my body, and isn't the possibility of no antibodies incredibly incredibly low?

Thanks, just confused is all.

Appreciate these responses!

95% if pretty high and remember you also had 2 tests and the 8 week one is a good indicator. Consider yourself negative.

If you body is unable to create antibodies to the virus, your test always will be negative.  Is clear that you have something in the body that is not express yet.  But we play base on antibodies test.  So far you are free.

BTW my test was negative having an OB.  Was not positive until the second OB.

Thank you for the quick reply!

Okay I wasnt sure because HHH has said 12 weeks is only 95% conclusive, but it's reassuring to hear that it is conclusive.

Sorry, just weird because this has taken over my mind for such a long time now, so based on both results I can continue my life without any worry of herpes even w the symptoms presented?

I know im being overparanoid, but I really just want to try to put this behind me and am struggling to do so.

Thanks :)
