Werid things

I am 35 male and had a night of unprotected oral sex with a girl that I just met. I was rather drunk so all I got was oral and nothing more. Let us just say that the boy down stairs feels kind of off. The area around there is slightly red in patches. There is another patch near my penis that is red and has something like witespots. They do not appear to be raised but I can't tell for certain as its pretty hair and itchy. The doctor I saw says its a fungul infection and gave me some cream to apply but it isn't helping for the last 2 weeks. This spot is new and I can't tell what it is really.I have other questions too. I also feel like lots of irritation but its because i masturbate I think without using any lube (dry hand). My boy area feels itchy too but not all the time.

1) Is this something herpes like?  This took place well like 4 weeks ago and before no sex with anyone else for 2 years and full STD work up including herpes and everthing was negative.
2) I read here a lot of people say test in 3 or 4 months and sometimes I see weeks like 12 or 16.  Why the difference in time?  Why not have one set period. Someone said wait four months and then some guy posted his reults at 12 weeks and everyone said they are accurate he doesn't have herpes.  Why?
3) I hear of this shedding process and I don't understand.  If she had oral herpes she can give it to my boy down stairs with no symptoms?  Does shedding happen often with oral herpes?

I cannot see my doctor for 3 weeks because hes booked up and not many doctors around me.

you can buy nystatin and lotrimin otc. the generic versions are fine too.

the cream you are using now has a topical steroid in it. for some folks, their skin is too sensitive and that can cause irritation too.

if by next week the rash isn't significantly better, return to be seen again.

I agree with grace on the fungal infection.  I have the same cream for mine and the doctor had to change mine as well.  No need to worry it does sound fungal.

I am not sure on the rest of the questions though.  Hope this helps!

pick up an otc anti fungal jock itch cream and give that a try.

also the cream you were given needs to be used 2x/day, not 2x/week.

He gave me econazole 1% and Cloderm. He says use it 2 times a week it has not helped any. This spot is new and its darker red plus like white spots and hurts some times not all the time. What about the test questions?

what cream are you using?

this doesn't sound like herpes and sounds exactly like a fungal infection. sometimes you have to switch medications to get good results.
