I know that it is unlikely that I got infected but I would rather know for certain. Anxiety and stress has been killing me.
For the name of the god you do not have herpes
I had another test at 7.5ish weeks and it was negative as well. This brings me some comfort because I think the fact that I don't have hsv1 I can be 75 to 80% confident in theses results. As of now I am planning on another at 10.5 and 12 and 16 maybe. If all goes well they will continue to stay negative.
Thanks everyone for your help. I am about a week and a half away from my 8 week test I know some may say it's unnecessary but it's piece of mind.
regardless I was just doing research and wondering why people say herpes whitlow is so painful while general herpes attacks go unnoticed so frequently? It's a bit confusing to me.
You correctly recognize that this is an emotional or mental health issue. The regulars in this forum are not mental health experts -- all we can do is give you reassuring facts about herpes and its transmission. Don't expect anything more than that; the rest is up to you. In any case, there's no point in continuing any further discussion on this thread. The advice you get will never change.
I have to stop putting myself in situations that make me question my own health for long periods of time. It really affects my life and work productivity. I also learned rubbing alcohol can cause some really bad skin reactions especially when there is no moisturizer added to it.
So I began to rrealize my last few weeks were likely an overreaction, finger anxiety. I found another patch on a different finger which looked similar to my intial freak out patch. I am probably still gonna get tested at 8 weeks, 12 and probably 16 for certainty. I have to stop pputting
I know I may be overreacting but I always think the worst thing possible is gonna happen to me. This issue is more mental than physical so it's something I will have to discuss with a professional about.
Regardless the 4 week mark increases my hopes. I read into it like this I don't have hsv1 and I read in one of Dr.HHH posts that at 4 weeks 60% positives show their positive for Hsv2. So an already low possibility shrunk in its liklikehood by more than half.
Negative at 4 weeks. I'll post more as they come.
Herpetic whitlow doesnt even shed hypothetically ieven if you have. It so as ling as sores arent present no one is at risk
I am just having a lot of trouble getting past this. I was told my Terri Warren and a std nurse that my symptoms were not nearly pronounced enough to be a primary infection. I guess just needed more moral support, thank you again. Hopefully I can start getting real sleep again and get my appetite back.
Ok thank you. I'm probably still gonna get tested at 8 week and 12 week mark for peace of mind.
As Fleetwood suggests, your risk is essentially zero.
I forgot to mention that my finger healed up completely in under 10 days and that is including the dumping of alcohol on it multiple times throughout the day for at Least 5-6 of them.
I am worried because of contact I may have with others, children and sexual partners.
Why are you even worried about whitlow? It doesnt really reccur and does not shed at all. It is like the best kind of herpes you can get if it the only location your are going to get it but no you dont have whitlow relax
Has anyone heard of whitlow without very obvious symptoms?
It's been a little over a month now and just went to get a test for a little bit of piece of mind. I should get my results today or tommorrow.
I figured that would be the response I am just worried I picked at a patch of skin prior to it getting liquid in it, I may be over thinking it.
There is no need to be worried about this. The chances of any infection are essentially zero.
Oh and also there was no liquid in the patch I picked.
Oh I also got rashes on my hand from rubbing alcohol I would pour on my hand. Those cleared up in about a day or so after i stopped using the alcohol and lotioned my hand.
