about 1 out of every 3 of us contract hsv1 before we even step foot into public school.  if you were never tested before and test + now on the blood tests, no way to know if it's recent or not.

at this point all you can do is to continue to follow up with your providers to try to get better answers than you have so far.

I think I do not have a previous HSV. I never have sex with anyone, never kissed anyone before. I can remember is at the mouth sores do not have cold sores. at this point, if you didn't get a lesion culture of your active symptoms, it will be hard to determine if these were hsv1 or not.

have you ever been tested for herpes before? do you recall ever having had a cold sore before?
