Yes it is possible, because the virus can lie dormant for awhile and then stress or a weakened immune system can induce an outbreak.
How long usually before you normally get symptoms after being infected
Typically 2-10 days after exposure to the virus. However it does vary to person to person, someone may carry the virus and be completely a symptomatic and would never no they have herpes, but they can still spread it.
It was about 4 days after sex I had fever and flu like symptoms
That sounds like an initial outbreak of herpes.
Does that mean I just got it
what testing was done? do you have hsv1 or hsv2? did you have multiple lesions?
was your partner tested for herpes to know their status?
grace
I tested for hsv1,but in the gential area. What does that mean
He is in the process of being tested. My doctor said I just got infected. No more than 3 to 4 weeks. He was surprised. I think
He thinks its not him. He never had anything before he said no symptons
so you had genital lesions and you had a lesion culture of them that came back as hsv1+?
