herpes , yeast infection or my head?

hmm...  this is long so go grab a drink now..

I had sex with a girl who had Herpes. I think I caught it. I checked off a lot of symptoms and went wacko for a while. I saw a nurse practicioner and a doctor separetely in the first and second week.
Now that was a unique week, I had sex with three girls that week. I'm not promiscuous, just a series of "lucky?" events. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
Sunday, about 2 weeks ago. I started tingling, the burning, all the concerns that come with Herpes. Last week, had the sore throat with the white spots on it for about 2 days. Then it went away.
My groin still burns, pissing still burns and sometimes I feel feverish, well warm. Maybe it's the heating, I had felt that way before but this is more pronounced.
I couldn't get an erection if I tried in the first week unless strongly visually stimulated (something I could do while looking at a cup before).
My tongue was acting weird one day ( Had herpes attacked the nerve to my tongue?)
Altough I never felt tingling in my legs.

About one year ago, my now ex-girlfriend used to get a lot of UTIs and I felt a little burning. Nothing signifiant to me mind you.  About 3 months ago she gave me some uti medicine (she was a nurse) and that seemed to have taken care of it. I was greaaat!
I have had a lot less sex since (I'm single now) and except for a couple of other single occasions that was my most active week ever.

Now, you must understand that I am pretty certain I have Herpes. I fit so many symptoms, the girl has Herpes, the timing was right ( 2 days after exposure)... but:
- She was not having an outbreak ( has had it for over 10 years)
- I was wearing a condom.
This takes the odds of my actually catching it to about 4% ( according to my research). - I will argue that I can be one unlucky *******.

The only symptom I have yet to see is the open sores and scabs which would visually confirm I have the damn thing.

The doctor and the nurse whom inspected my genital parts both think I'm freaking out over nothing and making up a lot of these symptoms in my head and exagerrating everything. There is a chance I am, though among my friends I'm known for my complete inability to panic in face of disaster. ( I work as a project manager and handle stressful situations).
I'm now just waiting for clear physical symptoms to show them! - Or...  my head really got the best of me this time.
Problem with Herpes is that without sores I will be in the unknown for another 3 months and potentially contagious.  ( 3months until the antibodies show in the blood test I will take) I spent yesterday in bed... I got sweaty at times ( was the heating too high?) , I felt tired all day, actually panicked and asked her if she didn`t get AIDS lately. ( She had spent some time in South Africa). **** happens. She was tested 6 months ago. she is clear.

I would be pretty damn annoyed to have HERPES. It`s hard enough getting laid. I had been trying to win back my ex ( 3 years!)  , I take her out to dates. It's not easy to win her back at all. But right now, I guess I cannot even be sexual with her ( something I had studied plenty to excel at) without endangering her.  I love her too much to give her this gift.
That's really what bothers me. It is not the having it, it is the giving it away unwillingly part.
The doctors won't give me antivirals because they don't think I have it.  I am at 2.5 weeks from exposure and 2 weeks from the first symptoms.  I still burn when I ****, feel hot at times, and feel pain or burning in my balls and penis area (ALL the time unless I am on Ibuprofen).  Sometimes a little, sometimes a lot.

Oh and... hmm... here is one more thing. At the end of week one from exposure, I saw some groin area rashes. Does not really look like the pictures I saw online, but I'm dark skinned so... I'm not sure. I used some of my Canesten for jock itch, and felt pretty good. It worked a couple of times and my ex-gf suggested I stop, in order to avoid building resistance if it is just a fungus needing antibiotics. I used it another time in week 2 and it did help the pain.
Would Canesten work if this was Herpes? Maybe, if it contains agents that numb out the pain without actually doing anyting about it. But it is anti fungus medication so that should affect the yeast and make things better.

After having written everything here,  my rational answers would be that I may be suffering from a severe fungal, bacterial or yeast infection that has all the symptoms of Herpes and should get on antibiotics as soon as possible.

But I'm not a doctor.
And I still feel the burn in my loins as well as SHE HAD HERPES!! I was great before that.
PS: I only found out she had the thing half way through, agreed to continue tough I hardly knew what Herpes was and admit responsibility for at least 55% of this outcome. ( I blame half of that on the booze, my erection, and legs wide open)

This has definitely been a lesson in safe sex. KIDS... before you get on your knees and do the the do, make sure to ask... "Baby, do you have anything I should know about before I go any further?"  And...  get tested. Regularly. Seriously.

I am waiting on blood results from week 1. It will probably show negative unless i have some other STD.

So what do you think? - Thanks for reading this far by the way.

I vaguely remember seeing a red area at the bottom of the shaft, when the condom should end.
I vaguely remember re-rolling it all the way down when I put it on.

I tried with another one of the same brand and realize that it always rolls back up with a little friction.  I had never noticed that before.

It is about a half inch from the hairy area.

I'm waiting for results this week but I'm still getting burning urination...

I failed to use my only line of defense properly.

you don't see actual viral shedding.

I'm noticing a whitish gray dustiness on my genital area skin... I figure it is dry skin, what else could it be?

Only thing is I have never noticed that before... It washes away with a shower tough.

Then again i have never paid so much attention to my privates.

Could be the virus shedding through?

I went to the clinic for a culture, I will know in two weeks.

She gave me antibiotics for Gonorrhoea and Chlamydia, and updated my Hepatitis A & B vaccines. This is probably completely unrelated, but I'm feeling nipple pain on the left one...

your genital symptoms sound far more like a fungal infection than anything std related.

if you have a lesion, be seen today for an exam and lesion culture.

Well,  this morning I woke up with an ulcer next to my anus.

I had not thought to look there....

I thought it could not be transmitted through vaginal secretions? At one point I doe remember the bed being wet of it and accidentally sitting there. I didn't think twice of it....

What should I expect now? More ulcers?

I hope it is my head!! I really want that!

Every thing seems to fit the symptoms online.

I know the odds are small but maybe I really didn't get lucky this time.

Feb 20: unprotected cunninlingus and protected sex with a girl. She has had herpes for over 10 years.
She only disclosed when we were about to have penetrative intercourse.
I accepted the risk. ( also didn't know anything about H)

Feb 24 : tingling in genitals

Week of the 24th.  Scrotum burning feelings, urination with burning.
I think I saw a rash on my penis, but it disappeared within hours.
Complete inability to have an erection for 2 days.
Sore throat looking like tonsillitis : white spots on lymphs. Left after 2 days.
Panic : Clinic visit, blood test requested, no visible symptoms.

Week 2:  scrotum burning sensation jand pain with burning urination.
Complete panic, saw doctor who did visual inspection. Do not worry diagnostic.
Feeling tired , spent Sunday in bed.

Week 3: difficulties with tongue for one day. ( not as flexible as normal) Burning scrotum is always painful. Burning urination, inability to sleep well. Occasionally feeling hot , feverish. Burning penis at night wakes me up. Ibuprofen.
Terribly painful masturbation.
Tests return back ; everything was clear / normal. - need to get Hepatotis vaccine.

Week 4: twitching in thighs, shooting back pain  above left buttock. Feet and legs tingling, super cold at night.
Scrotum burn is gone. Occasional pain comes and hoes.  Burning urination.

From everything I have read online.... Looks and sounds like Herpes.
And I should expect an OB in a day or two.

Been super depressed the past few weeks. Spoke to the girl, said she was not having an OB at the time. She had one a week after event ( from the stress).  Can't say I trust anything she says ....

your symptoms don't sound like herpes going on.

you've seen medical professionals who see no signs of herpes.

at this point, follow up with proper std testing at the proper times. if all of your encounters were protected, get syphilis testing after 6 weeks and herpes igg blood testing after 3 months. If you  had any unprotected sex or unprotected oral, be sure to get gonorrhea and chlamydia testing done too.

you've convinced yourself you had to have contracted herpes. don't be your own worse enemy!

Blood tests are conclusive at 3 months and each std is tested specificly. The igG tests for specific antibodies for the herpes virus.
