how much should i worry

about 5 months ago i had one unprotected encounter.  about 4 weeks later i was tested for all stds out of concern. all negative. about 1 month after the encounter i began to experince some vaginal burning, urinary frequency and lower abdominal pain.  my dr put me on a course of antibiotics which took care of it within a few days.  about a month later i started the same symptoms but with some cranberry pills they went away again.  now 5 months later i began to experience some vaginal burning again.  this time it comes and goes over the last 4 days. i did find what appears to be an abrasion on my outer labia.  it looks like a razor nick..no bumps or other symptoms.  does it sound like hpv?

it could be but it could also be many other things going on which is why additional follow up is in your best interest.

I saw my physician the first round.  I then communicated with her the second time and she recommended the cranberry pills.  This time she is out of town until next week.  I have an appointment next week.  I meant to say HSV not HPV.  I was just wondering if anyone could let me know if it is possible to have burning with no lesions and it still be herpes?  I check often throughout all these bouts and have never had a single bump.  I am just curious.

You need to go be seen and have a full work up done. Give a urine specimen and don't self treat at home. also get tested for yeast and bacterial infections vaginally too.

Hpv is the virus that causes warts, not herpes.
