no replies on the Valtrex?
does valrex have any effect on test results?
If you tested negative after 12 weeks for hsv2 its conclusive
so I can assume I don't have hsv2
second sentence should read 'rule out infection more than 16 weeks prior to the blood being drawn'
Certainly as good as commercial tests gets, for sure. A negative test can be assumed to rule out infection in the 16 weeks prior to the blood being drawn. It cannot rule out infection inside that window if you are having any form of sex inside that window.
What's your real question though bud? You as I recall test positive for HSV1 and have had cold sores for much of your life. The test worked here. Negative for HSV2 means you were not infected up to 16 weeks ago but you need to assess the situation of sexual history and symptoms in that window period, regardless of what any previous symptoms were. Be sure to follow up with your doctor with any concerns.
