herpes test IGG and bio kit taken

I went and randomly got tested in September ( the second week) for a herpes test. By suprise I received a call from my doctor saying I tested positive with hsv 2 (1.7gg was the score). I then got tested with the biokit usa a week later which didn't confirm anything. I took the test and it came back with a very very faint pink dot. The test provider informed me to treat it as a positive. Anyone have any suggestion of what to do, its driving me crazy.

Honestly if you refuse to accept something then your future follow up on this thread is going to be refused to be seen by me.  If you don't want to take the steps to find out which type you have then honestly why are you here?

You pose a question of "help" and figuring something out.  If you want to assume that is fine you can do just that and assume all you want.  Chances are you aren't in my state and my city so I don't have to worry about being a potential partner which will be put to risk as something you refuse to investigate and figure out.  But that is what you are doing at this point. Assuming you have something you have no proof to support that even at the option of properly figuring this out.

Your provider is very sadly mistaken.  HSV-1 commonly is oral with people as we get it as a child.  So guess what that means?  Chances are in the favor your HSV is oral.  Now could it be that you have HSV-1 genital?  Sure.

We can play the guess game all day long with your case.  Sadly as you have been told by me and you have been told by Grace you need to have your culture typed.  Your specialist isn't going to tell you one way or another with 100% knowledge which location it is.  Now if you want to pay for the WB go for it.  You are helping the economy and thus hopefully by your paying for the needless testing I will find a job.

Telling your provider to do what the CDC states to do is in your best interest.  If you refuse to do that then I can't help you any further.  I will wish you the best of luck though.

Thanks.for your response. But since.my.test wasnt typed assuming i have type two is like assuming i have type one genitally. Its an assumption. More then likely the lab disposed of it by now due to  the time frame.  I will go with my gut feeling and go from there. I know my body and thats that. Might as well pay for another blood test since ive already waisted money. Just need to know if wb would be able to pic up the location of type one.

Just to complement: in the meantime, since you had a positive culture (meaning that the HSV virus was detected in your genital area), you must assume you have genital herpes, still pending to learn what type it is.

You have the right to ask for your culture to be typed - your doctor is clearly not following the CDC guidelines.
Getting another WB when you have access to a (positive) culture specimen is just waste of money.

Sorry. Which i was told before by her, obgyn and another doctor in my primary office. Once was told i had a ecoli infection vaginally last yr which struck an alarm because i neber herd of.that. Maybe bv but not ecoli. But i will just schedule a appt with the specialist let him review it, pay for the w.b. And wait for the results. If i ever have that problem again down there i will go,.get.it.cultured and make sure its typed. I dont know what to do. Youre talking to.someone that never had anything but chicken pox, and a bacterial infection before. Thats its. Thanks ; )
