herpes virile meningitis

Two And a half years ago I was diagnosed with herpes meningitis. I had just given birth to my daughter in October 2 months later I contracted. A fairly common breast infection most women get them when they're breastfeeding. You're not allowed to breastfeed while taking the medication to get rid of the infection my breast milk dry it up. At the end of November beginning of December I woke up one morning with a severe headache it lasted 3 days before I ever said anything to anybody it be came so severe that I even asked my family if it was possible if I had a brain aneurysm that lasted two more days when I woke up that morning I could not touch my chin to my neck I became scared. I ask my fiance to take me to the Hospital they pretty much told me that there was nothing  wrong with me and to go home so I decided to drive an hour north to a bigger Hospital. When I got there I am mediately told them I was happening with me the doctor came in And said I'm going to give you an MRI of your head. When we get the results from that we will know more about what is going on. To make a long story short they diagnose me with herpes meningitis. Thank God I had quit breastfeeding because herpes meningitis is one of the only disease that is actually passed through a mother's breast milk. I had a to ease stay in the hospital they sent me home Even though I was still suffering from The worst headache I've ever had in my life at that point I had two young children. Two days after being home I went back to the ER here and my local town and they gave me a spinal again and discoverd I still had it in me they can't be there for another week. I was still in severe pain. They pretty much sent me home and told me that there was nothing else they can do for me I just had to take the valtrex and the pain medication and eventually go away well here I am two and a half years later and I've never felt the same sense
I can't do anything.
I am in pain everyday if I don't have a headache my back hurts my whole body hurts I feel weak I can't sleep I have a4 year old and a3 year old daughter
I haven't been able to find a doctor that will help me get through my days I don't know how much more I can take feeling like this everyday please tell me that there's an answer out there that I'm not crazy but I don't feel this way for nothing .  Is it possible to have damage to my brain or still have sweeling.  I've also had scarlet fever sever tmd back and kneck injury asgood slaughters surgury to repair a hole in my bone in my elbow 7 ear surgerys for tubes had my atnoids taken out when I gave birth to my first child I had placenta acreeta and almost died from blood loss had 2 blood tranfusions. My second daughter brith I had to have surgery to remove the placentan bleed again but not as extrem they where perpared since I've had female problems and cyst so I had a tubal ligation 2 months ago and have had a lot of kidney infections.  I truley feel lost

sounds like you need to find a much more caring provider at this point to follow up with.  make sure you consult a neurologist too.

I had about 7 spinal taps in the 4 weeks peroid

All they did was send mme home.

csf is cerebral spinal fluid - it's the fluid that they tested when you had meningitis to know that you had herpes meningitis.

you probably also have genital herpes too - that's the path the virus entered your body. not too unusual to also get symptoms of meningitis with an initial hsv2 genital infection and able to detect the virus in csf.  

yes you can get recurrences of hsv2, not too typical for it to reoccur with full blown meningitis though. did they offer you daily suppressive therapy with a herpes antiviral?

I havnt been able to get a doctor to listen to me. The town I live in is small and I'm 23 years old they think I'm just a drug seeker. I've thought about loosing the insurance and paying out of pocket to be seen. What is csf? And me and my husband both have herpes he has genital but mine went to my brain. It is possible to have out breaks the doc said wich scares me sweeling in your brain has to damage it.

are you following up regularly with a neurologist?  herpes meningitis would've been gone within a few weeks after being infected and you shouldn't still be having issues from it like you are describing.

did you test for hsv1 or hsv2 from your csf ?
