herpes? yeast infection? skin tags? help!

Im a 29year old male in a steady relationship. My girlfriend and I have been battering with a recurring yeast infection.  We decided to go to her doctor together to solve this problem. Her doctor prescribed us trisporal capsules and both with a relevant cream. My girlfriend dosent have any symptoms of a yest infection but I on the other hand had a burning sensation and itch below and under my foreskin.

After putting the cream on twice a day for 4 days I noticed 3 small bumps on the shaft of my penis. I then decided to go to my doctor as I was worried that this is not in fact yeast but rather hearpies. I told my doctor my story and he told me to relax, but after he did an inspection on me he sad that yes, this dose look like herpes.  He sent me off to the lab for blood tests , sawbs and a urine test for all stds and hiv.

Today I went to the lab and got tested. The doctor did a very painfull swab test and also swabed the 3 bumps I was worried about. I asked his opinion of the three bumps and he said that they don't look like herpes but rather skin tags.

Im obvious waiting for results, and am in completely dismay.  I feel that my life might change for the worst if it is herpes.  I have spoken to my girlfriend about this all and we are both in shock at the moment.  If any one could offer some advice or have had a simmiler problem your words would be much appriciated.

Thanks in advance.

Hi and welcome. I would lean towards the lab doctors opinion. Im sure he sees many of these during testing and has seen the results after testing. If he felt it was not herpes  i think he would be the one that is correct.

Yesterday afternoon my doctor phoned me to say that all the tests came back negative and I dont have any std's. Im very relieved but there is a slightly worry of a false negative. Guess I got to trust science. Still have slight redness from the yeast infection. Time to get on with life now. Thanks to everone who posted.

Hi grace. Thanks for you post. My girlfriend and I have decided to wait for my test results befor she goes and gets tested, out logic been that we will be better informed for what to test for and been able to bring my results to her doctor so they can have my complete side of the story.

Im worried about been miss diagnosed.  The lab doctor only took blood for a hiv test, the rest of the testing was swabbing the inside and out side of my penis and two urine samples. I wish they did a blood test for herpes.

On the other hand, the bumps on my penis that brought me to this point of concern have not changed at all. They are not causing me any pain ot discomfort,  or weeping or oozing anything. They remain 4little bumps that are skin coloured and some what hard. I dont want to be lead into a false senses of security here, but im really hoping that they are skin tags!!???!!??

visual diagnosis of herpes is wrong a significant part of the time which is why follow up type specific herpes igg blood testing is important. your gf also should seek out the igg blood testing too to know her status.

I would trust the lab doctors opinion more but just wait for the results but if it turns out to be positive for herpes your life won't be ruined, I'm 17 and have been told I have genital herpes and at first I felt the same way and very depressed, I also have depression and anxiety which didn't help, but after you learn more about it, it's not as scary as everyone thinks, herpes is very common and you can still live a normal life, you can still have kids, have sex, and have a relationship with someone who doesn't have HSV, you just have to be more careful, honestly I think the main problem with herpes is that it's annoying, the bumps are annoying when u have an outbreak and it's hard to tell people, but most people who are informed don't seem to care as much as you would expect them to. I hope this helps and that all goes well
