hsv 1

I am 6 weeks pregnant. I had a cold sore 5 weeks ago that means I have hsv 1?

most adults do have hsv1 orally. it's very common.   having hsv1 orally, isn't an issue for your unborn child.  

make sure that you and your partner both get tested for hsv2. Best to do it early in pregnancy so that you have time to confirm any low positives. it's usually not a part of routine pregnancy testing nor is it s part of routine std testing but since contracting hsv2 during pregnancy can harm your baby potentially, best to know both you and your partner's status!

Hi, being pregnant you need to test for herpes bottom line and getting a lip cold sore could very well be herpes. If it is, it would not affect the baby however only genital herpes would be an issue but please test as well as the father if your still sexually active with him. very important
