Thanks once again. May I ask how you know all this? Do you work in the medical field?
HSV2 is very rare orally and if it is present does not shed very often if at all in some people.
If you had no HSV, chances are you'd know about an infection and wouldn't be asymptomatic. If you already have HSV1 then you wouldn't really get it genitally.
Thanks for the prompt reply. I realize that but what about HSV2? Different strain as far as I know and exclusive only to the genital region am I correct? The encounter occurred on March 21st so tomorrow would make it 9 days without any herpes-like symptoms, however I had itching that lasted for about four days after the encounter which I assume was just normal irritation from the saliva or something else. So its safe to say I'm in the clear? What if I am asymptomatic?
Receiving oral sex is very low risk of STDs, zero for HIV.
HSV1 is the only practical herpes risk and without symptoms within 10 days it is most unlikely you contracted HSV. One reason might be that you already have oral HSV1 which would virtually remove the genital risk.
