you can not predict your partner's odds of contracting hsv1 from you. He definitely needs tested to know his own status. you can not decide what precautions to take together for oral sex until you know what he has.
please read our read before posting post on this forum if you haven't already. it's best if you just keep all your questions in your original post. let's stick to your other post and keep all your future questions there.

From what I am reading I am taking a guess here but; You have not told your partner have you? If you have then he should be able to go to the clinic or the doctor and get a test like you did. Wait for the results and discuss it better with him and how you two should proceed.
If your partner doesn't know his status stop worrying. It is highly likely he has it. If you both have it then is nothing to worry about, you can't get it again (or at least it is extremely unlikely).
Like I said READ. I have studied this and I must say IMHO the experts on this forum are some of the best.
If you read the Herpes handbook or Terri Warren's new book The Good News About The Bad News she cites the Dr's here as some of the best experts.
To answer your speific question:
General consensus is a 4% chance he'll get infected (if you avoid contact when you have a sore). Also like I said earlier I don't think anyone knows how effective Valtrex is with HSV1 they have only tested it with HSV2. Valtrex costs what a couple hundred dollars a month???????
Go to the Dr's forum on this site and read what the Dr's have posted, I think it'll make you feel better.
I have also read that most of us get the HSV1 virus before the age of seven so that may be why you don't remember it.
Thank you for the response. the crazy thing is that i can never remember even having a cold sore before. Now that i had the blood test, its all puzzling to me.
But lets say that my partner doesn't have herpes at all. What are the chances of me giving it to him? As long as i keep myself up to par and not have any symptoms or signs, what are the chances of him getting it? Now i did just ask my doctor and she says that as long as i am taking my meds and no signs or symptoms the chances are very small.
Sorry for posting again but wanted to add the following.
Just wanted to let you know in the last 3 years I have read everything ther is a the net. Avoid any websites that are trying to sell anything of have links to anyone who is trying to sell anything.
After much stress and appearing to be asymptomatic myself it suddenly came to me, I think I remeber having a cold sore as a young child. So like most people I didn't even know I had it until I had the blood test. So I went all of these years without worry.....
I think since your in a committed relationship the first question is: What is your partners status?
Better than 50/50 he also has HSV1. I am not an expert but from what I have read if he is positive there is virtually no risk that he can get it again.
Read the Dr's forum on this site.
You need to read a lot more. Probably wasting your money with valtrex again from what I have read; there is not much research with valtrex and HSV1 just HSV2 and if you don't have any symptoms why bother. Like I said read more. You might want to look up transmission rates.
