Tingling feet 5 weeks after initial Herpes outbreak

I recently passed Herpes onto a regular partner, and her first outbreak was painful and included headaches and quite severe flu like symptoms. All symptoms have now cleared up apart from a disconcerting pins and needles sensation in the bottom of her feet when standing up and a slight numbness in the face. The first outbreak was 4-5 weeks ago, will the pins and needles just subside or should she seek further help?

They should subside. Lasting nerve issues with hsv are rare. That being said a follow up with a specialist who knows about hsv and nerve related issues is never a bad idea. Teri Warren at the asha would be an excellent source of information for you and your partner.
