Thank you Grace. This somewhat reassures me, though at the same time as the small lesion on my penis I developed a tender red spot near my tailbone that burns a bit, and doesn't feel like a pimple. :( There was hope that the first lesion was just a friction burn from overenthusiastic activities (lol), but now things are stacking up against me. Clinic today.
Thanks again for your time, much appreciated.
yes, after a shower you've used soap to kill more of the bacteria on your skin so there's not much left for the peroxide to react to.
if you already have hsv1 orally, you are incredibly unlikely to contract it genitally.
follow up on this to get peace of mind from better answers than your current self diagnosis :)

Grace, if I already have HSV 1 (I get cold sores once in a while), would that make it even less likely that I'd get it genitally, due to having some antibodies or some such thing?
Thanks Grace, but on cuts and scrapes, etc, after a shower they are clean, and do not react with peroxide. And I did read on some medical site about peroxide reacting with HSV fluid... though I can't for the life of me find it again.
I'm still scared. Looks like a trip to the clinic tomorrow. Amazing how fast one's life can turn...
almost everything you pour peroxide over will react dear. it means nothing. no doctors do not use peroxide to diagnose herpes.
if you have active symptoms you need to be seen and have it looked at.
hsv1 genitally doesn't shed very often and isn't easily transmitted to partners. odds are you didn't contract it.
