possible?

Is it possible to have herpes antibodies in the blood and never be contagious, if sores have never appeared? In other words, is an outbreak necessary to become contagious in the first place?
Or it could be that you are or that you are not and no-one can tell you?
Or if it's in the blood it means that you have been and will be contagious at some point?

if you have herpes, you are actively shedding the virus periodically whether you notice symptoms or not.

did you ever get type specific herpes igg blood testing yourself after the + non-type specific test?

are you still with the partner from your previous post?

Thank you for answering Grace. Yes, I am still with the same partner. Almost 1 year now. My ex-husband has just asked for a divorce, finally giving up all hope of a reconciliation, and instead of making me feel like I can go on with my life, it made me feel awful and actually consider a possible reconciliation. But clearly, if I am contagious that's a non-starter. I have changed doctors and trying to get the more specific test without having to pay £260. I am a part time teacher with 2 kids, I haven't got that sort of money to spare!
