Not going to lie... Its going to help for a while and you going to ask a lot of whys. But you need to stay healthy and think positve like i tell my gf.  there is someone out there who will understand.  Kept your head up and read a lot on the subject.  I did that's why it doesn't bother me at all.

Take care

Your whole family has genital herpes? At least your family is open about having it

How were you diagnosed as having genital herpes?

Most likely when you say your family has herpes, you're talking about oral herpes. It's very common and not considered an STD.

Genital herpes is an STD. You have to have sexual contact with the person for it to be transmitted.

I recommend reading the free herpes handbook at www.westoverheights.com and also watching the patient counseling video on that site too.  Both are terrific resources to start educating yourself about your herpes and has all the info you need to know about treating it too so that you can start making those sorts of decisions too.

how you were diagnosed? do you have hsv1 or hsv2?

do you have a partner? have they been tested too?
