Why hasn't my ex-boyfriend shown any symptoms? I was diagnosed with herpes in Feb. We were living together during that time and I had my first outbreak before I tested positive. We have been together for 5 years and sexually active for about 4 years. I tested negative aproximately 7 months ago...maybe more. I never had sex with anyone else while with him but he has had several sexual encounters since we first began dating. Obviously, there is no way to know who he got the herpes from but I am 1000000% sure I got it from him. Especially since I was negative not too long ago. But why hasn't he shown any symptoms what-so-ever? He thinks I cheated and got it from someone else and blames me if he gets a first outbreak. I was told that maybe he has a stronger immune system. But idk.
Actually only about 20% of folks with hsv2 genitally are asymptomatic, the rest just don't know that the symptoms they are having , are herpes symptoms.
