I agree with fleetwood. testing negative after 12 weeks would be conclusive.
Can you chime in on this and give me your advice?
What do you mean by that? Lol
Didn't mean that in such a way, lol
Not sure how my wife would take that :)
I sure wish I had your number or something to text about this more easily haha
Well there is so little in this world that is 100% certain and I am just able to read about your situation. However when you put all the things you mention together, I cannot see how you are possibly infected with HSV2.
Thank you...so you can say with certainty that I don't have HSV2?
All my life with HSV1, over 15 years with HSV2.
So are you the new moderator? I know you're not a health professional but what is your expertise of herpes?
I'm sorry but Grace has retired from this Board, we all of course miss her very much.
Thank you so much for your timely response. Is there anyways you or I can have grace fromHHP respond to this? I trust you, but I've seen her name on here often and trust her advice as well. I'm not sure how to make her see this, lol
You are absolutely fine in respect of HSV2.
Having an oral HSV1 infection means that you were very unlikely to become infected in that region with HSV2.
HSV2 is also very difficult to obtain orally, not a location it thrives in compared to genital.
The 12 week negative result for HSV2 also confirms no infection.
Hence taken as a whole, you can be very confident that there is no HSV2 infection.
