Do I need to replace medication for controlling hypertension?

I’m 60plus, my BP stays around 140/90 .I’ve been taking these medicines for almost 5years .
1- NatrilixSR/ Indapamide  1.5mg
2- Tenormin / Atenolol 50mg
3- Lofral-5/Amlodine 5mg and
               Euthyrox 100ug
My Cholesterol was normal, checked 2 weeks ago. PB goes up if I don’t take one on the 3 above.
I’m not allergic, have no sugar .
Pls advise if I can reduce or replace 1of3 medicines to avoid any long term side effects. Good day.

Beta blockers and diuretics are no longer first choice medications these days in the United States. Medicines that work on the RAAS system are generally advised as the standard or care. These are the ACE drugs and the ARB drugs. The best,in my opinion is the ARB drug Losartan, invented 1990, approved 1995, sold about 2000 and out of patent 2010 (therefore inexpensive). This drug blocks angiotensin varients from attach to the cells walls of the vascular system and cause vasoconstriction. Dose is generally from 25mg to 100 mg a day. Over 100 mg doesn't help much more. They prescribe once a day, but you can break up the dose into two pills a day. Lisonopril is an ACE drug that works well, but causes high conventrations of a substance called bradykinin that causes a "clearing of the throat" and, curiously increased sensitivity to pain. So the two classes of drugs you should consider are these ending with the letters "pril" which are ACE inhibitors, or drugs that end in "rtan" which are ARBS, which block the action of angiotensin. In general a diuretic is not needed. Calcium channel blockers are not the drug of choice for hypertension. Years ago I assisted in writing the NDA (new drug application) for calcium channel blockers. You should also be on 600 mg of magnesium a day. If there is no success with an ACE or ARB then you go to square two.

Hi there. you take 3 tablets for High BP. A water tablet, a beta blocker and a Calcium Channel blocker. Pretty standard stuff. If your worried about the BP slipping upwards a bit, go to your doctor. Ask for a 24 hour BP test , to get the average. You may need a slight tweak to your meds?. The 4th  med you listed seems to be for a hyperthoryoid condition?? I'm confused about the side effects question, considering your on the BP meds for 5 years?? Best to have a review with your Doc .they are in possession of your full medical background and can guide you best. Keep us posted
