This would best come from your doctor, what does he say?
I have stopped the tablets now for almost 10 days and doing excercise for 40 mins a day and also joined a gym , but recently my readings are shooting up systolic is still around 140 but diastolic is now around 100
I am taking apple cidar vinegar in the morning also honey+lime in hot water for weight reduction
Should i should switch back to tablets to keep my diastolic under control is having a higher diastolic more dangerous than having a higher systolic if so should go back to tabs or reducing more weight and food control should be enough? are there any specific food control methods
Your medication is a Angiotensin II Antagonist which blocks the enzyme that causes arteries to become stiff and unable to absorb the pressure of each heart beat. These are usually well tolerated and have few side effects and I have never heard of long term effects, but you should always follow your doctor's advice. You can ask him about another class of BP meds including beta blockers as they are also very effective, they do tend to cause more side effects though.
Just keep a heart healthy diet that includes fruits and veggies, cut back on processed foods and empty carbs like sugars, pastas and breads. Also, exercise will help your diastolic number come down but never start any new exercise program without your doctor's approval.
Good luck!

With continuation of my previous post - i had high BP(160/100) Full body check up was done - nothing abnormal except cholesterol.Adviced to stop drinking, smoking and quit non veg.Prescribed with telsar 40 mg tablets.
Now doc has asked me to not rely on tablets and discontinue
I have reduced 4 kgs from 86 to 82.On exercise including yoga for 45 min daily. Reduced non veg quit smoking but alcohol is there ( beer two times a week).
My pressure readings are around systolic is better now around 125 - morning evening - 135 but my diastolic is still high around 85-90 morning ,90-95 evening i have stopped tablets since 4 days.
Should i continue tabs ( as doc says this age taking tabs will lead to complications like diabetes and nerve issues at later age) Are there specific foods, juices and other natural ways that could help me lower my diastolic?
Thanks for your feedback i shall take it up
Thanks for your question and welcome. I don't think your two issues are related, but your doctor should verify this. Your BP is not all that high based on your readings at home. A one time spike is not uncommon, BP is dynamic and changes throughout the day based on internal and external stimulus including stress. Based on your test results, it sounds like you are in good shape. To control your BP, you should give up the smoking and become more active if your doctor has cleared you for exercise. You will get more results from these two steps than anything a doctor can do for you.
Good luck,
Jon
