Looking for a website

Hello all -

I'm new to this forum having recently been diagnosed with hypertension and I'm trying to locate a website that I came across a month or two ago (and found very helpful) but the details of which I've now lost.

As I recall, the website was created by a young man who was holidaying in Canada and during which vacation was found to have high blood pressure. He then returned home (to Wales, I think) where his own doctor confirmed the diagnosis. This began his quest to find the causes of, and to treat, his blood pressure, eventually coming off all medication - the website is a record of his (ultimately successful) story and a resource for others who are equally determined to address their hypertension at source and to eliminate it.

But - I can't remember the name of the website and so cannot now locate it, although I'm desperate to do so. If the description I've given above rings any bells for anyone who knows the website I seek, PLEASE could they let me know. I would be extremely grateful.

Please help if you can.

Many thanks,

Jamie

I certainly agree with is_,,, Trying to find the silver bullet, so to speak, has been a search since Heck was a pup, and Dante's Inferno has a place in hell for those who propose nostrums for profit reasons.  I'd suggest you follow conventional medications, they have certainly extended my life beyond my expectations.  Frankly, to disregard a doctor's prescription to follow an internet threat to me is reckless behavior.  You have a serious disease and it is time to face it.

I'm not familiar with that website (possibly someone else is?), but I wanted to comment your post in general.

I would recommend not paying attention to single "success stories" regarding treating high blood pressure. You are right - high blood pressure usually have a (or several) cause(s), and I think doctors could do a better job trying to identify the cause and treat it. Most hypertension is categorized as "primary" or "essential" hypertension (=without an obvious cause), while there often is one or more, but possibly not that obvious.

My advice is:
Identify (and if possible, correct) potential causes like: Stress, anxiety, overweight, smoking, alcohol, excess salt, sedetary lifestyle, lack of exercise, high carb/fat/unhealthy diet or stimulants. Let your doctor rule out causes like medication side effects, elevated thyroids, kidney diseases, hormonal diseases or narrowed arteries. If you still have an elevated blood pressure or are unable to correct obvious causes, consider medication.
