Medicine change

Hello All,

I have had hypertension for almost 10 years now. I have been taking 50 mg of Losar during this period.
Recently, I had thyroid problems due to which I have going to Endocrinilogist regularly.

He asked me to switch to Olmat since this is a new drug and has long lasting effect (in a 24 hour window) compared to Losar. One important thing my physician told me (Dr who prescribed me Losar) was that it is also a kidney protector drug.

I would like to know if anyone here has any feedback on Olmat (vs Losar).

Hi,

Do you mean Losartan?  I have never heard of "Losar."

Olmat is a calcium channel blocker.
