SCARED

Hi, I am 51 and going to have my surgery on November 19, 2012, I am scared to death. My OBGYN did a biopsy which I dont have the results back yet , but it hurt so bad for three days. Has anyone had the DA Vinnci hysterectomy?? that is what I am having.

If your referring to the pain after a coloscopy I know what you mean, but it will go away...

I am having mine in Feb. 2013; to many projects at work to get it done any earlier. I am 42 after so many gyno issues.(Irregular cycles, abnormal pap smears, ovarian cysts, ) My gyno says it is time...

I think you will be fine, just do not do anymore than you have too. And rest until you are healed...

Although my gyno says I can return to work after a week if all goes well...so excited about that. Can't afford to miss much work...

Here is what a friend of mine said, "If I had known how much better I was going to feel, I would have had the hysterectomy years ago."  Don't worry, they will take good care of you in the OR and after.  Ask them to put something in your drip or to give you a patch, to keep you from getting nausea.  That was my only problem after any surgery, that plus wanting to sleep longer than the recovery room nurses wanted to let me sleep (when I had day surgery.  They like to get you out of there.)

Good luck, and take care.
