Cereal/Pasta causing bowel problems...

Hi,

After I eliminated cereal and pasta, and replaced them with fruit and vegetables my bowels went normal (type 4 on Bristol stool, to be precise)

After about a week I ate cereal again in the morning, just 1 bowl and bowels were not normal anymore. Not normal means I spend 1 hour in bathroom.

So why does cereal/pasta is causing this problem? I tried gluten free variation with same problem, and tried also without milk.

It's not excess fibre because both cereal/pasta and veg/fruit have a similar quantity I think.

Maybe because they don't pass as quickly as fruit/veg leading to bulkier, more difficult to pass stools?

Thanks
