IBS constipation but now diarrhea sometimes

Hi all I have been battling IBS and Acid Reflux.  Have had many test, last ones were colonoscopy and EUS two years ago.  Saw my gastroenterologist last week.  My concern is that for about three years, I was always constipated but now every  now and then I have explosive diarrhea or go many times with loose stools.  My doctor says that IBS can switch from one to the other but I wouldn't call my situation switching back and forth since I have been constipated for almost 3 years but now getting diarrhea in between more often.  Does anyone else have this?

I've deadly with this all of my life just to find out it was a side effect for my migraines. Eat a leafy diet on your days with firm stools and you should be able to pass without intervention. If not call your doctor and ask about stool softeners and how often. My best friend for cramping and unnecessary diarrhea was taking Bentyl. Seemed to stop the spasmodic colon and wouldn't constipate me. Have me huge relief for years and without all the bad side effects of taking immodium for fast relief. I'd talk this over with your doctor and find what foods that upset your stomach and what foods that cause constipation and only eat on social occasions. Stay hydrated at all times. Summer in the south gets me worse for the constipation and my love for spicy foods I just make sure I have my Bentyl in me and a good bland meal before in the day. Good luck with many blessings. ...
