Looking for any information or pre-experiences.

I am 16, and since August 2007 I have had stomach cramps/pains, diarrhea, feeling sick and I have also had flu in this time. Also, I have had unbelievable period pains.  October 2007 I was tested for PCOS and IBS, I have had blood tests when I am on my period and when I am not, I have also had a stool test, ultrasound and a pelvic scan but I have not yet had a final diagnosis.  I was wondering if anyone has had the same symptoms because I have to wait til June10th to find out what is wrong, that is if they know.

I have Mebeverine tables BP 135mg for stomach cramps/pains, and I have Loperamide Hydrochloride 2mg Capsules for diarrhea.  Also, I take one 500mh paracetamol.  These are all taken as and when I need them.

Any suggestions or help on ways I can calm these pains down would be grateful.

hey diet is a good place to start with in ibs but be sure you are getting everything your body needs
if you start elimating foods and find your symptoms improve then you can try re-introducing that food again to see if it causes a reaction like keeping a food diary over 2-3 weeks.
ibs can sometimes just mean some of us are just a little more senitive to certain foods that would not bother others
a hot water bottle placed over the area in pain not directly on the skin can help with the pain

Thank you very much, I will give it a go. My mum has been adviced by a friend to put me on a GI/GL diet, would that work?

My doctor has diagnosed me partial IBS but i'm not really sure how that works lol!!

Thank you x

Are you thinking you have IBS then? If it is you can manage it with a few things.

Firstly, stress is a big irritant for IBS. Sencondly try to eliminate all coffee, alcohol, and simple sugars.

There are many websites that tell you what to eat, but generally stay away from beef, pork, or any red meat, fatty foods, processed foods. Raw vegetables and liquid foods are usually irritants also. Everyone is different, if you have IBS, so try eliminating these foods and add vegetables, chicken, sourdough bread, papaya......

I don't know that there is a test for IBS, but good luck I hope you find your answer.
