What is it?

I've been suffering from continuous diarrhea since November 2008. My symptoms were worse then, but I'm concerned as to why it has still continued. Back in November I could barely eat without having to use the restroom following my meal. I'm not sure if this is due to IBS or something else. I went to the doctor back in December, but they couldn't find anything wrong. The diarrhea has not been as frequent (which I am glad), but I still have it. As of a few days ago there was some blood in my stool. It wasn't drops of blood. It was like my stool collected it on it's way out. Any ideas?

If you have blood in your stool you should be going back to the doctor.  I know there can be drops at times if you're going to the bathroom all the time just from everything being irritated and wiping, but if it's a lot and mixed IN your stool you should be going back to be checked.  They usually diagnose you with IBS once they've exhausted every other test and don't find anything else wrong with you.  But for me, it took 2 years of testing to figure out that it wasn't anything else.  A guy I work with had similar symptoms to you and and in the end they said it was colitis and he had to change his diet completely.

I am also concerned if it's not IBS, that it might be a parasite.
