IBS Nausea all day every day

I was diagnosed with IBS when I was about three. As a child it was more constipation, and eventually settled as I grew so I forgot about it. Fast forward to moving to florida for my sophomore year for college and it is unbearable! All of a sudden I had horrible diarrhea, and stomach pain. I know my main triggers are caffeine dairy and chocolate but I still have these occasionally. Last semester I had an endoscopy done which found I had excess acid, stomach inflammation, and doctor ruled it as IBS which makes sense going back to childhood. He gave me Prilosec, and I started eating paleo which helped but is so hard to keep up with. Does anyone else have nausea all day every day? I used to smoke MJ all day every day for the pain, but that has stopped working. I am making an appointment with a homeopathic doctor today, anyone had luck with that? This is ruining my life. I hardly leave the house, college is almost unbearable, and I feel like this might strain my relationship since my significant other has no stomach issues and always has to deal with my pain.

Try probiotics of the highest quality you can afford and also try the
Betaine HCL challenge and/or the baking soda  test for stomach acidity.

You must rule out candida and leaky gut syndrome and if you suspect high stress levels, you must find ways to de-stress.
Avoid triggers, calm the mind, meditation, hypnosis, etc.

Did you get tested for H. Pylori? Sometimes test will miss it.

Hello Everyone that reads this. I have for the past year experienced the same symptoms. I went the  Gastroenterologist last year and I was diagnosed with IBS. I was told to take medicines like Ranitidine and Prilosec. Now, somedays it helps me with my reflux but it does do anything to help me with the nausea. I began to experience the nausea last year and swelling in my abdomen that sent me to the doctors. The nausea that I would experience would be so bad to the point I felt like I didn't want to do anything. Still to this day I still get sick. I have been the ER and got an scan/x-ray procedure done on my gallbladder and everything is traveling through the organ properly. But the scary thing is that ever while I was injected with the fluid that should have not made me nauseous at all it did. I have had X-rays, Ultra-sounds and everything looks perfect. I don't know what it could be. I am no sure if it is gluten or not but I did try gluten-free for a week, it helped a lot. But now I have stop eating meat and it has kept me from getting bloated. I still get the nausea at least 5 times a day. I am 21 years old, I am so tried of dealing with it...please help.

Doctors or even readers..If you have any suggestions.
To be honest I feel so alone going through this.
Most of the time my family is like change your eating habits..I have and I am still getting nauseated.

Hi Jad.

Endoscopy showing excess acid? I don't think so!
The endoscopy certainly won't show high stomach acid, only a PH manometry can indicate this.
It only shows acid reflux, which does NOT necessarily correlate with high acid levels.
On the contrary acid reflux is more common with low acid conditions!

So you need to know your acid, as being on Prilosec, a Proton Pump Inhibitor-an acid blocker- would only treat the sympoms of acid reflux, but make your overall condition WORSE, if you have low acid levels!!!

Also, you definitely need to do an elimination diet , starting with grains, sugars, gluten and dairy, which are the most offensive groups and STICK with whatever your immune system reacts to.
Life does not end, if certain "treats" are off limits.
You gotta be tough with yourself, if you want to be able to enjoy the rest of your life.

Another thing to rule out is Candida, which may have caused leaky gut syndrome.
Check out a self screening test under " saliva test for candida".
If positive, I would ask your gastro for a PEG urine test for Leaky Gut
Syndrome.

If you need further details let me know, however, please note that my comments and suggestions are not intended to replace medical advice.

Take care.
