Chronic odema, and flank pain, and low bone minerals.

Could I be suffering some chronic kidney issue? I have been suffering with odema (swelling in face and hands after lying down asleep at night - especially around eyes, and pitting odema in legs and feet after a day of being upright - gravitational), plus mild to moderate, yet sharp and stabbing pains in my right hand lower back/side just above my hip (which I've had for 6 months plus intermittently). I am female, 10 months post natal, and have had previous kidneys infections usually on this side, before. However I have no fever or other associated symptoms. I have had blood tests for kidney function and nothing outside normal range, but I have had low phosphate, then at next blood test (6 months afterwards) phosphate was normal but calcium was low. I eat a good balanced diet, don't smoke or drink alcohol, am on no medication, but I could do with drinking more water. I also have a moderately symptomatic cystocele. Many thanks.

I have had this too several times. Plus there's always low protein and albumin etc, but no protein in urine lately as far as I know. I go to see the doc today so I'll mention it.

Have you have your protien levels checked both in urine and blood? I have had Neprhotic Syndrome (filtering problem spilling excessive protein in urine due to inflammation of glomureli) 3 times and symptoms are very similar especially the oedema around the eyes and face.
