A gastroenerologist is a doctor who specializes in disorders of the digestive tract. This is the specialist who deals with stomach, liver and intestine issues. This is the specialist who will be able to help you sort out any issues you have with the colon. You can ask your primary care provider (your regular doctor) for a referral to see a gastroenterologist (GI). I would recommend your checking out the gastroenterology forum here on medhelp, too. You can learn what you need to ask your doctor on the gastroenterology forum, too.

I occasionally have a small amount of blood in my stool. It appears to be due to irritable bowel syndrom - which does not show up in a colonoscopy. Usually diarrhea goes along with that. Possible causes of abdominal pain that is associated w/ blood in the stool. - colitis, chrones, diverticulitis, and irritable bowel. I would think the first 3 have been eleminated through the colonoscopy.
It sounds like they need to do a CT (cat scan).
Not sure your problems would neccesarily be kidney related. At this point, I would suggest that you work with a primary care physician to help rule out some things.
