Kidney problem

I am 33 year male having hypertension  from 3 years taking telmisartan  40 mg from last two years. Now my bp is under control comes under 130/85.   I had urine albumin  excretion test three  times result shows  between 100 to 75 mg/dl albumin excretion ( 24 hour urine albumin test on submission of around 1.5 liter urine). The normal values shows in lab report is up to excretion of 150 mg/dl/ .My serum creatinine  level comes between 0.8 to 1.0  and urea  under 20. Am i suffering from kidney disease?  Am I taking proper drugs? Is there any drug to decrease albumin in urine? May I have  to go for kidney  biopsy?

Hello and hope you are doing well.

The basic disease which is causing the micro albuminuria needs to be tackled to control this excretion.  The commonest cause for this is diabetes mellitus. ACE inhibitors improve the renal perfusion and hence improve the GFR and prevent/reduce the progression of kidney disease.

Hope this helped and do keep us posted.

Hello and hope you are doing well.

Your blood pressure, urea and creatinine levels are within the normal range. Also, you are on telmisartan, belongs to the class of angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors which may decrease the rate of decline in kidney function. However, levels of microalbuminuria above 30 are indicative of early kidney disease. Am not clear about the normal ranges specified by your lab. So, please discuss the possibilities with your doctor.

Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
