Microscopic Blood in Urine after Protein?

Hello. My question is regarding dipsticks. I workout a lot, and use protein supplements. I know working out can cause blood in urine. But this seems to be a protein issue. I got dipsticks just to make sure I wasn't passing protein into my urine from my supplements. I noticed after having 2 scoops of protein(40 grams), there was trace blood in my urine. So I started experimenting. My first void of the day contains no blood. After meals, and a single scoop of protein(20 grams), no blood. I can go all day with no blood. The 2 scoops of protein was a rare thing. But then I got some protein cookies that contains 37g protein. If I eat that, a bit of blood shows up again. Normally the kind where the dipstick pad stays orange but has a couple specks of green. Then it's gone the next day. So it appears that it happens when I get up close to 40 grams of protein at a time. I know the easy answer is cut down on protein per serving, which I will. But does this sound like early kidney issues? Or just a case of the kidneys working harder to clear the protein? FYI, I drink plenty of water, have no pain or other symptoms, and everything else on the dipstick is always negative.
