Hi, I'm sorry to hear your news. But can you post the name of the tablets? I'm surprised to hear of radioactive tablets, unless it was iodine for thyroid cancer.
Perhaps you are thinking of Cytoxan, also known as cyclophosphamide?
Hi Ken,they said the steriod is prednisolane and chemo tablet is chlorambucil which they said they give to owner to give to pet at home(wearing gloves) but i will see if they can give to her for various reasons
Okay, I see why you thought it might be radioactive: it's because they told you to wear gloves. But there is no radioactivity in it, though it might (or might not) irritate your skin if you touch a tablet directly. I doubt that her saliva would bother you. The dose of those drugs is given according to the weight of the patient, so she is getting a very small dose.
Unfortunately, those types of chemo drugs can reduce the number of blood cells that fight infection. That's true for humans, too. The usual advice for humans is to be extra, extra clean in every way such as washing dishes with a new sponge. Avoiding anyone with a cold, etc.
Good luck to you and to your cat.
