Possibly Lymphoma

Hi everyone, I am new here. I have been reading different posts on this website for a few weeks now, and it has been very uplifting.
A week ago my doctor found an enlarged lymph node in my left clavicle. She sent me right over to the hospital for an ultrasound and an x-ray. I have a biopsy scheduled for Monday morning, and I am very afraid of the outcome because there's a very good chance it could be lymphoma. My question is, if it is lymphoma, what are my survival chances? I do not think that I have any other symtoms other than this enlarged node. I was running a low-grade fever for about a week, but I think it might have been from an upper respiratory infection that I just go over. Any thoughts anyone?

Everything is ok for now!! The doctor didn't even want to do a biopsy! I do have to go back in 6 weeks just make sure. Thanks for your support :0)

Thank you for your response. I am just trying to stay positive about this whole thing. It just seems so weird to me because I have never had a serious illness in my life...no one in my family has either. I guess I will just have to wait until Monday and see what happens. I will keep you posted.

My understanding is that the medical community has made great strides in the treatment of lymphoma. To understand survival rates though, you would need to know what type it is. Hodgkins Lymphoma is very treatable, as are many of the Non-hodgkins types.

Some facilities have a pathologist ready to give a "quick read" of the tissue at the time of the biopsy, so you might be given a partial answer Monday.

Wish I could give you a more complete answer! Please keep us posted.
