Elevated Alpha Feta Protein

I was diagnosed with Hepatitis C in 1996 with genotype 1.  I have since been a non-responder to two separate combination therapies of interferon and ribovirin about 3 years apart.  My ultra sound 5 months ago was negative.  However, my last blood test a month ago showed everything was normal and within range except AST was 126, ALT was 208, ferritin was 885, alpha feta protein was 15.7, HEP C RNA Quant 25,868,788 COPY/mL and HEP C RNA Quant 4,973,230 IU/mL.  Is the elevated alpha feta potein indicative of early cancer?  How do these numbers add up?  What might be going on?  I have not drank alcohol or smoked cigarettes in over a year.  I have been eating alot of beef and was taking Bayer aspirin in the morning and Advil at night to combat the fatigue I feel most of the time.  I was taking the Bayer and Advil every day for over 3 months.  Could the combination of the Bayer and Advil have caused the elevation in alpha feta protein?  I noticed after I had done this that the internet states its not good to use this combination.

AFP is used as a liver cancer marker but can get slightly elevated from other causes such as hepatitis c. If the AFP value rises dramatically, such as doubling in a month, then a CT Scan with Contrast comes to play to look for liver lesions. STATIN drugs - Advil, Motrin, Ibuprofen - are very hard on the liver and should be stopped immediately. Same goes for liquor in any amount.

I was diagnosed with hep-c and cirrhosis 2/08 . I had a elevated alpha feta protein levels . I think they were about 150 or more , as I've gotten healthier it has lowered to 15nor lower . My GP told me patients with liver cancer have alpha feta protein levels in 1000's . My hepatologist said the liver biopsy I had was the cause and not cancer .
I still smoke which is not good . I would check int the use of aspirin or any over the counter pain drugs , they could be aggravating a tired liver . This could bump up liver function numbers . Doesn't sound too serious , take care of yourself .
