Elevated GGT, liver mass and methotrexate use

My mom has just found out that she has an elevated GGT level but the rest of the AST and ALT levels are normal. She had a radiology and they saw 2 masses one 3cm x 3cm and the second 4cm x 4cm.

She has been taking methotrexate for over 9 years.

Does anyone know if this may have an impact ?

if it is cancer what other levels would be elevated in her blood tests ?

Any suggestions ??

Thank you

Masses do not seem to be impeding on the bile flow... all the test are normal other then the GGT.

I read up on methotrexate and it seems that it can cause cirrhosis because of the toxicity level.

I am just worried that it may be cancer and wonder what tests could be done to rule it out ?? Any suggestions??

would blood lvels be off the charts if there was a cancer ???

are these masses impeding bile flow???  Any impairment of function of bile motility seems to cause a rise in GGT. This can also be elevated in those with mononucleosis.

DOnt know a lot about methotrexate... Have you looked up the side effects? many drugs are hepatotoxic  - some insidiously over time  - others directly and immediately...
