High bilirubin See different doctor?

I found out I have high bilirubin total 2.5. The indirect is 2.1. the direct is 0.4. Ultrasound looks good. Alt in normal range. AST normal and all other blood work normal. I found out through my family doctor. He thinks its just Gilberts Disease. I still have nausea. Worse in the morning and in the night. He said he could have a MRCP test done if I am concerned. I called a Gastroenterologist yesterday. Told them my bilirubin numbers. That dr wanted me to do a Hisa Scan before even seeing her. I have never seen the gastroendocrinologist dr before but do go to the same building for my OB. So now I don't know what to do. Is it just Gilberts disease like the family doctor thought? Or should I see the Gastroendocrinologist who wants me to do a Hisa scan before even seeing me? Or is it nothing to be concerned about? I am hoping there possibly is a dr here that could give me some input. This is all new to me.

I'd follow up but it very easily could be Gilbert's Syndrome.

Good luck,
Mike

Hi I think it is a Hida Scan, it has to do with the gallbladder
Here is something to take a look at to explain why it is done

Hi there, sorry, sometimes it take a bit during the day to get an answer
If I were you I would go to the GI.
It can't hurt to get as much information as you can.
I don't know what the scan is but you click above on the magnifying glass and search.
I will try that now and come back
Take care :)
