Liver toxcity?

For the past few days I took a lot of Tylenol and drank a good bit of beer. First day I took about 4.3 grams of Tylenol which is a little over the recommended...2nd day I took about 3.5 grams, next day I think I took 4 grams again . All these nights I drank alcohol. It's been 79 hours since I last took Tylenol. The only symptom I have is pain on my right side. Not so much right upper but lower and on the sides. I kinda feel bloated. I was just wandering if it was liver toxcity that could turn into acute liver failure would their be other symptoms for sure other than side pain?

Hi I am glad you are ok.  Be careful.
Did you see the  news report about tylenol? It came out right after you posted your question.

What a coincidence.

Thanks Dee. It's been 126 hours now since I last took Tylenol. Hopefully I'm about in the clear that if something was gonna happen it would have already.

Hi here is an article that I thought might help, ignored the part about hepatitis, I did a search for tylenol and the liver.

Hi I am not a doctor but saw your question.  I would think if you just did it for 3 days it would not cause a problem.  Now...if you are doing this very often, yes people die of tylenol poisoning every year.
While adding alcohol is not a good idea I don't think if would cause a huge problem if done occassionally.  I will try to find some information and come back.

Try to drink a lof of water, it will help your liver flush the toxins from your body, you could give it a rest by avoiding fried, fatty foods, fast foods, processed foods.  Try eating whole foods. vegetables, fruits, whole grains, etc.

While the liver does not cause pain, if enlarged the sac surrounding it can.  It can also be the gall bladder which is right there or even the intestines.

Take care
