This in normal with drugs that metabolize in the liver, some are harder on the liver than others. Your liver is capable of making a complete recovery. Hepatitis (liver inflammation) is likely the cause of your elevated enzymes and you were on a pretty strong dose, I hope you are feeling better. Not using/limiting alcohol will help your liver make a quicker recovery.

Take care, Randy

Dosage is as follows: Tablets: 50, 100, 150 and 200 mg

SIDE EFFECTS: Common side effects include headache, nausea, and abdominal pain. Other side effects included diarrhea, dyspepsia, dizziness, rash, and taste disturbance. Rarely, serious allergic reactions, including angioedema (swelling of tissues), may also occur. Liver dysfunction (jaundice, hepatitis) and abnormal heart beats have been associated with fluconazole.

thanks again randy for ur concern feelings,
i'm not going to take alcohol on regular basis, my question was only to discuss the things
one more information i would like to share with u is i had fluconazole150/week for two weeks before going for these lab tests so this might be the reason of my elevated ALT/AST
ok, i'll go for my LFT in next two or three days, and let u know the results

Hi Randy has given you excellent advice. It is up to you if you take it or not.
Reducing alcohol is better than nothing.
What would it hurt for you to take a vacation from the alcohol for a week or two to see if you could improve how you feel?
You might find you feel a lot better without it.

Just a thought, it is up to you
Take care
Dee

Its your liver so do what you want, I still recommend abstinence, further blood lab testing (CMP) and pending those results follow-up lab testing in three months . First you need to establish you do not already have liver disease, this should be your doctors concern as well.

Your bilirubin enzyme value is the missing key element here, knowing this would determine if imagining (CT scan) is required for further diagnosis. Normally symptoms do not manifest during early stages of liver disease so you understand my reason for concern with the leg pain, itching and the elevation of your ALT/AST. If it turns out you have advanced liver disease (cirrhosis) reducing your alcohol intake will not be sufficient, your disease will continue to advance without sobriety. Remove the cause and stop the progression but sadly for some this is too late. If you don’t have liver disease and your liver is just irritated then I say good luck and I hope you can always enjoy a drink every now and again but over the next three months sobriety is best. The health of your liver is far too important.

Itching an leg pain are symptoms of liver disease. Your liver is irritated and further lab testing is required such as a comprehensive metabolic panel. From this point your doctor can decide if a CT scan is necessary.

You must stop using alcohol immediately so that your liver can begin to recover. This is very important. Your platelets look fine and so does your cholesterol. Boils are not a symptom of liver disease.

I hope this helps,

Randy
