Yellow eyes

Recently I noticed that my eyes(white part not the iris) have a very slight yellowish tint to them. I took notice to it when someone pointed it out. My question is if this could just be me? I don't think its early signs of jaundice because years ago in highschool someone else pointed it out. Maybe it comes and goes? IDK. May I also add that Im a smoker and have red hair, can that mutation be linked to it?

Just because you have in the past had yellowing of your eyes and it has gone away does not mean your liver is fine. If your eyes are yellowing it is a sign of liver problems. People with Hepatitis, cirrhosis, or even gallbladder problems cause yellowing of the eyes. You should have it checked to see what the cause is before it becomes a serious health issue. It is better to have it checked and it be nothing than wait and hope it turns into nothing. Best wishes, Sissie

I agree w/bigsissie it is not normal to have yellow eyes. You should have your liver tested.

Thanks for the help, but if my eyes were like this several years ago it probably isn't correct? I'm 20 years old now and it happened to me when I was around 16 then went away or something

You should have a liver function test done. Yellowing of the eyes is usually a sign of liver problems and can be caused by many different things. Hope this was helpful. Best wishes, Sissie
