i am having really bad pain in my right side under my ribs.

i have been having really bad pain for the past 2 yrs. on my right side under my ribs and when i went to the doctor they said were they pushed down at it was my liver and i was not suppose to jump off the table cause it hurt so bad, they did blood test for my enzymes but that came back ok. i drink alot so i dont know what is going on and as i am typing this i am having pain so bad that i feel like i am going to be sick, please help my doctors cant figure out what is going on.

Hello and hope you are doing well.

Besides liver disorders, the other causes for the pain could be gastritis, peptic ulcer disease and GERD. Disorders of the colon could also cause pain. Kidney disorders too produce colicky and sharp pain. Sometimes anxiety with flatulence can cause this pain. Imaging studies and endoscopy will help in further evaluation. You will need to consult your primary care physician for proper evaluation of pain and therapy.

It seems to me that some imaging studies might be helpful - an ultrasound to have a look at the organs on the right side maybe.
