Feeling hot without real fever??

Hello, all.  I have been dealing with autoimmune issues for about 15 years now.  I never got a formal diagnosis of anything other than fibromyalgia.  I've always tested negative for the lupus antibodies, though have had ANA's as high as 1280 and as low as 40.   I am on plaquenil and every now and then steroids to get me through some of the rough patches.   I wondered if anyone gets bouts of feeling hot/inflammation all over when going through a flare?  Not really a fever, per the thermometer, but just feeling like you have a fever? I don't really know any good way to describe it.  I feel achy and hot all over, my skin is hot to the touch , and sort of flu-like, but the thermometer always registers as no fever.   Anyone else?

Hi  all.  I am happy and not so happy to read your posts.  I started plaquenil over a week ago.  I was on 200mg in am and now 200mg morning and night.  I have a dx of unspecified auto immune disease.  The fever and achy nausea you all describe has got me too.  How I describe it is it feels like how you would feel just before you would vomit. It comes  and goes. I wake up feeling that way most days.  I feel my best from about 5pm on. Then I go to bed and wake up sick again.  I don't have as much pain as I had.  I culd deal with the pain better than this feeling.  So tired of not feeling good.  In reading the posts, a lot of us have posted our symptoms.  But what I to know is has anyone found something that helps to lessen or stop the fever, nausea, yucky feeling.

I too have Lupus.  Newly diagnosed.  I thought I was going crazy.  I also get a hot feeling without fever.  I thought I was going crazy or my mind was playing tricks on me.  I am happy to see that I am not the only one.  I also discovered that when I do not have my Plaquenil I get very bad kidney pain.  What do you think this means?

Hello,  My 17 year old daughter is suffering with very similar symptoms as some of you.  The Dr's do not know what she is sick with but she is severely suffering.  Can anyone help?  It started off with her having an overactive thyroid and now the levels are lowish but in normal range. She has severe headaches and body aches, her face becomes red and very, very hot yet no measurable temperature.  She is always nauseated to varying degrees and is often times light headed, has shakes, tired, hot and chills on and off and has thin skin that bruises sort of easy.  She will also break out in a huge sweat do to overheating yet no temperature.  Thanks for any ideas.

hi doublemintgum, i know this was years ago but i am wondering what happened with your daughter? i am 24 and have been suffering with similar symtpoms for three years. i am so desperate for help
Hi Camille809  Yes I have many answers.  Email me ***@****
The bacteria that cause Lyme Disease also have been shown to trigger Mast Cell Activation Disorder. Mast cells contain chemicals including histamine, heparin, cytokines and when released they create big inflammation.  Lyme bacteria also causes significant damage to the thyroid.
So, for my daughter, Lyme Disease caused all her chronic health issues.   Do lab testing only through a Lyme specialized doctor or you will be dismissed as its a controversial disease.
